Testing & Tagging

Testing & Tagging Service

Testing and tagging (test and tag) of electrical equipment is a necessary obligation required in the workplace to reduce the risk of electrical incidents.

Testing and tagging appliances alone may not eliminate electrical hazards from the workplace. It is important to note that 131 TAG recommends a holistic approach to electrical safety in the workplace including the installation and regular testing of RCDs (safety switches).

It is also important that staff are fully trained for the equipment they utilise for the task in which they were employed.  131 TAG can assist you to develop a risk assessment tailored for your workplace.

The Testing Process

Our team will arrive onsite, report to the person responsible for engaging our services before completing a risk assessment and safe work method statement.  We welcome the opportunity to complete any required site specific inductions.

131 TAG tests in accordance with –

– AS/NZS 3760:2010

– AS/NZS 3012:2010

– Qld Electrical Safety Regulation 2013

The Test Instruments

131 TAG utilise the industry leading Seaward Supernova XE Portable Appliance Tester (PAT).  Our test instrumentation includes manufacturers such as Clipsal, Meggar, Hioki and Kyoritsu.

The Tag

131 TAG use quality test instruments that produce a computer generated tag with barcode.  131 TAG have the ability to customise our tags to print our clients Company Name on them.

Documentation

Test data is downloaded from the testers and you will be issued test documentation.  This documentation includes a full detailed Asset List, Test Results, Failed items list and a Certificate of Test (insert picture of tag).

Documentation – Detailed Asset List or Electrical Register

Our clients are issued a full “Detailed Asset List” in PDF format.  The Detailed Asset List (or Electrical Register) lists all electrical assets tested.  The Detailed Asset List includes the unique barcode the appliance was issued, make, and serial number of every appliance tested.

Documentation – Detailed Latest Test Results

Our test instruments utilise software that cannot be altered after the test has been completed.  Full test data is provided for every appliance tested.  This includes actual test values – not a hand written spreadsheet with a pass or fail.  This proves as evidence testing was completed in accordance with Australian Standards.

Documentation – Failed Items Report

131 TAG produces a “Failed Items List” to summarise failed equipment that requires further attention.  These appliances are removed from service and reported to the relevant persons onsite.  We will not repair any appliances without our clients prior consent.
